The smoke exhaust pipe size of diesel generator set is determined by the product, because the smoke exhaust volume of the unit is different for different brands. Small to 50mm, large to several hundred millimeters. The size of the first exhaust pipe is determined based on the size of the exhaust outlet flange of the unit. And the elbow of the smoke exhaust pipe also affects the size of the smoke exhaust pipe. The more bends, the greater the smoke exhaust resistance, and the greater the pipe diameter. When passing through three 90 degree elbows, the pipe diameter increases by 25.4mm. The number of changes in the length and direction of smoke exhaust pipes must be minimized. When selecting equipment and designing and arranging generator rooms, Linyi Generator Rental Company reminds you to pay attention to the following factors.
1. Arrangement of smoke exhaust pipe of diesel generator set
1) It must be connected to the exhaust outlet of the unit through corrugated pipes to absorb thermal expansion, displacement, and vibration.
2) When the muffler is placed in the computer room, it can be supported from the ground based on its size and weight.
3) It is recommended to install expansion joint at the part where the smoke pipe changes direction to offset the thermal expansion of the pipe during the operation of the diesel generator set.
4) The internal bending radius of a 90 degree elbow should be three times the pipe diameter.
5) The stage muffler should be located as close as possible to the unit.
6) When the pipeline is long, it is recommended to install a rear muffler at the end.
7) The smoke exhaust terminal outlet cannot directly face flammable substances or buildings.
8) The smoke exhaust outlet of the unit shall not bear heavy pressure, and all rigid pipelines shall be supported and fixed with the help of buildings or steel structures.
2. Installation of smoke pipe of diesel generator set
1) To prevent condensate from flowing back into the unit, the flat exhaust pipe should have a slope and the low end should be away from the engine; Drainage outlets should be installed in the muffler and any other parts of the pipeline where condensation water droplets flow, such as at the vertical turning of the smoke pipe.
2) When smoke pipes pass through flammable roofs, walls, or partitions, insulation sleeves and wall cladding should be installed.
3) If conditions permit, arrange the majority of smoke pipes outside the computer room as much as possible to reduce radiation heat; All indoor smoke pipes should be equipped with insulation sheaths. If the installation conditions are limited and it is necessary to place the muffler and other pipelines indoors, a high-density insulation material with a thickness of 50mm and an aluminum sheath should be used to wrap the entire pipeline for insulation.
4) When fixing the pipeline support, thermal expansion should be allowed to occur;
5) The terminal of the smoke pipe should be able to avoid rainwater dripping. The smoke pipe can be extended horizontally, and the outlet can be repaired or rainproof caps can be installed.
3. Precautions for installation of smoke pipe of diesel generator set:
1) The exhaust pipe of each diesel engine should be separately led out of the room and should be laid overhead or in a trench. The smoke exhaust duct and muffler should be separately supported and should not be directly supported on the diesel exhaust main or fixed to other parts of the diesel engine. Flexible connection is used between the smoke exhaust duct and the smoke exhaust main. The bracket on the smoke exhaust pipe must allow for pipe expansion or use a roller type bracket, while the short flexible pipe or expansion corrugated pipe should be a long pipe between two fixed brackets and combined into one.
2) The length of smoke exhaust ducts and their matching requirements with the pipe diameter should be determined based on the data provided by the manufacturer. When the smoke exhaust pipe needs to pass through the wall, a protective sleeve should be installed. The pipe should be laid vertically along the wall outside, and its outlet end should be equipped with a rain cap or cut into a slope of 320-450. The wall thickness of all smoke exhaust pipes should not be less than 3mm.
3) The direction of the smoke exhaust pipe should be able to prevent fire, and the outdoor part should have a slope of 0.3%~0.5%. Slope outward to facilitate the discharge of oil fume condensate and condensate from the outside. Install a drain valve at a low point when the horizontal pipe is long.
4) When the smoke exhaust pipe in the computer room is laid overhead, the indoor part should be equipped with an insulation protection layer, and the thickness of the insulation layer below 2 meters from the ground should not be less than 60 millimeters; When the smoke exhaust pipeline is laid overhead under the fuel pipe or when it needs to pass through the fuel pipe when laid in a trench, safety measures should also be considered.
5) When the exhaust pipe is long, a natural compensation section should be used. If there are no conditions, a compensator should be installed.
6) The smoke exhaust duct should not make too many turns, and the bending angle should be greater than 900. Generally, the turning should not exceed three times, otherwise it will cause poor smoke exhaust of the diesel engine and affect the power output of the diesel engine set
