What’s wrong with installing permanent magnet engine oil on a diesel generator set?
1. Simple structure. The permanent magnet synchronous generator eliminates the need for excitation windings and problematic collector rings and brushes, with a simple structure and reduced processing and assembly costs.
2. Small size. The use of rare earth permanent magnets can increase the air gap magnetic density and increase the generator speed to the optimal value, thereby significantly reducing the motor volume and improving the power to mass ratio.
3. High efficiency. Due to the elimination of excitation electricity, there are no excitation losses or friction or contact losses between the brush collector rings. In addition, with the tight ring set, the rotor surface is smooth and the wind resistance is small. Compared with the salient pole AC excitation synchronous generator, the total loss of a permanent magnet synchronous generator with the same power is about 15% smaller.
4. The voltage regulation rate is small. The magnetic permeability of permanent magnets in a straight axis magnetic circuit is very small, and the direct axis armature reaction reactance is much smaller than that of an electrically excited synchronous generator, so its voltage regulation rate is also smaller than that of an electrically excited synchronous generator.
5. High reliability. There is no excitation winding on the rotor of a permanent magnet synchronous generator, and there is no need to install a collector ring on the rotor shaft, so there are no series of faults such as excitation short circuit, open circuit, insulation damage, and poor contact of the brush collector ring that exist in electrically excited generators. In addition, due to the use of permanent magnet excitation, the components of permanent magnet synchronous generators are fewer than those of general electrically excited synchronous generators, with a simple structure and reliable operation.
6. Prevent mutual interference with other electrical equipment. Because when a diesel generator set generates electricity by doing work, it will produce a certain magnetic field, so there will be a magnetic field around the entire diesel generator set. At this point, if a frequency converter or other electrical equipment that also generates a magnetic field is used around the diesel generator set, it will cause mutual interference and damage to the diesel generator set and other electrical equipment. Many customers have encountered this situation before. Usually, customers think that the diesel generator set is broken, but it is not. If a permanent magnet motor is installed on the diesel generator set at this time, this phenomenon will not occur.
